Kayla Holland

Food & Nutrition Program Manager

Kayla Holland, MS, RDE, IBCLC, is a nutritionist and registered lactation consultant who serves as an expert resource on nutrition, food justice, food systems, and health equity issues impacting African American communities. Kayla is responsible for program management and operational activities of The Center's Food and Nutrition program and healthy food initiatives to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with work plan deliverables, funding, and other specifications. With a Master of Science degree in Nutrition from Hunter College, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science and a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from the University at Buffalo, Kayla is uniquely equipped to address the multifaceted challenges of food insecurity that minority communities experience. Kayla’s fervent dedication to advancing food justice and health equity is rooted in the principle of Sankofa, which emphasizes the importance of learning from our past to ensure a strong future. Kayla is driven by the trailblazing Black leaders who have come before her and believes that the impact of these pioneers must never be forgotten.
