Bronwyn Lucas

Deputy Director, Programs and Services

Bronwyn Lucas serves as Deputy Director of Programs and Services, a position that was created in 2023 after The Center experienced substantial growth and expansion. In this role, she has the primary responsibility of assisting the Executive Director with the development and execution of the strategic direction and programmatic policies for the organization and provides oversight to all The Center’s programs. Lucas received her MPH in Maternal and Child Health from Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With over two decades of commitment to public health equity, she has worked at the local, state, national, and international level on issues such as women’s health, economic justice, youth empowerment, policy and systems change, leadership development, and food justice. She has held various nonprofit leadership roles including founder and Executive Director, Board Chair, and consultant. Bronwyn grew up in New England but has lived in North Carolina for over 25 years and calls NC “home”. In her free time, she enjoys travel, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
