Nicole Heard

Grants & Contracts Specialist

Nicole Heard, MBA works at The Center for Black Health & Equity as a Grants and Contracts Specialist. Aside from reviewing and drafting grant contracts, she assists with the approval process and closeout, as well as ensuring the organization adheres to all fiduciary obligations. Nicole has ten years of financial experience in government contracting and seven years of experience in grants management, budget analysis, and grant and contract administration. Previously, she handled activities related to the entire life cycle of sponsored program administrations, including contract negotiations, outsourcing, and pre-and post-award management (both financial and non-financial) for federal funding agencies NSF, NOAA, NIH, and NASA, DOD, USAID, ED, HHS, DOT, and VA. In addition, Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Norfolk State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Business Administration. An active member of her community, she serves on the Newport News Public Schools Family Engagement Advisory Committee and the School Safety Committee. She enjoys creating memories with her family.
