Human Resources Manager Job Description

($65,000-$75,000 annually)

General Purpose

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, managing benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The candidate will report to the Deputy Director. This is a fulltime position. Candidates in Raleigh/Durham, NC, Cleveland, OH, or Atlanta, GA areas will get priority.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
Work with managers to ensure constructive and timely performance evaluations are complete
Provide support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations for conflict resolution, investigating employee issues and allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Create a compensation strategy and analyze trends in compensation and benefits for all employees based on market research and pay surveys and keep the strategy up to date.
Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Ensure organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices and review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
A minimum of five (5) years of proven human resource management knowledge and skill
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
